Our Associate Publisher Irene Gallo was at this year’s Hugo Awards at LonCon and recently revealed that throughout the ceremony she was close enough to all but kidnap David Tennant i.e. the Tenth Doctor i.e. AUUUUUUUGH! Repeated queries from Stubby the Rocket to London on whether he has been kidnapped, why hasn’t he been kidnapped, can he be kidnapped, have gone unanswered.
And that wasn’t the only Doctor in the house!
Peter Davison, the Fifth Doctor (and the Tenth Doctor’s father-in-law) was also in attendance!
Both were there as nominees for the Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form) category for The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, a humorous faux documentary written by Peter Davison and produced by his daughter Georgia Moffett, who is married to David Tennant. In the documentary, Davison, Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, and Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy scheme to sneak into the 50th anniversary special episode and, with the help of many many many cameos from Doctor Who alumni, appear to succeed in a most unusual manner.
The category award ultimately went to Game of Thrones for season 3 episode “The Rains of Castamere,” which…we hope they played the song and shut the doors as the award was accepted, just to make everyone squirm a little bit.
In any case, we hope to be able to announce a new flippy-haired Tor.com Office Adventurer very soon. Or maybe two. Allons-y!
